 English oral and written mandatory

 Computer skills (Word, Excel etc)

 Previous experience in Psychosocial support activities

 Very good communication and active listening skills

 Previous work with NGOs an asset

Job Description:

Under the technical responsibility of the Senior Psychosocial Technical Advisor, he/she will

be in charge of:

  1. ENSURING THE NECESSARY PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPERVISION AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO

FIELD TEAMS WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION’S COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO

REHABILITATION:

SUPPORTING & ANALYSING THE RELEVANCE OF THE MHPSS INTERVENTION

 Monitoring mental health and psychosocial needs of population and beneficiaries.

 Improving responses to these needs by supporting the Technical team on the design and

implementation of appropriate Psychosocial Support (PSS) intervention, at the different levels of

intervention (hospital and center intervention, camps and communities,)

 Ensuring comprehensive approach to the needs the beneficiaries by working in close

collaboration with the Rehabilitation Technical Advisor (Rehab TA) and Health Project Manager

and officer.

ENSURING THE QUALITY AND THE SAFETY OF THE MHPSS INTERVENTION

 Ensuring a continuous technical supervision and coaching of the Psychosocial workers through

regular joint field visits, case discussions, technical follow-ups and files/reports.

 Planning capacity building and identify trainings needs to all the field teams (support

departments, rehabilitation and psychosocial teams) according to the needs identified the context

and different levels of intervention.

 Compile and report rapidly to the line manager on any protection concerns and measures

reported by field team.

ENSURING THE QUALITY AND THE RELEVANCE OF THE TECHNICAL TOOLS

 Contributing to the elaboration of technical tools or documents and proposing review, changes,

updates and/or implementation of the technical tools and documents used at field level in close

collaboration with the PSS STA.

 Ensuring, with the support of the project officer, their correct implementation by field teams.

  1. ENSURING REGULAR REPORTING TO PARTICIPATE TO THE CAPITALISATION/LESSON

LEARNING OF THE PROJECT

 Ensuring regular reporting on his/her activities to the line manager, Project managers and

technical manager.

 Ensuring regular liaison with Health Projects Manager, Rehab TA, and Senior TAs, including

provision of feedbacks, technical inputs and recommendations as requested.

 Contributing to the elaboration of technical guidelines, lessons-learned documents and protocols as necessary.

 Ensuring the appropriate collection of data by field teams and following and analyzing the data related to PSS activities in close collaboration of the project manager Data Base officer.

  1. CONTRIBUTING TO TEAM WORK

 Actively participating to project and mission meetings.

 Participating to the recruitment of field psychosocial staff and appraisals.

 Ensuring a good communication and coordination with other teams (i.e. joint meeting with Rehab team).

  1. PARTICIPATING TO EXTERNAL COORDINATION

 Upon Field coordinator request, represent the Organization on issues related to MHPSS and protection with any relevant partners or external actors working in North East Syria in order to facilitate coordination of interventions.

 Participate to different sector meetings in order to gather and share information about the activities in the project areas respecting confidentiality guidelines.

Respect the confidentiality of all information and data received.

 Restrict information sharing only to relevant internal staff and none to external sources.

 Respect and promote the Organization’s policies and report to the line manager any non-respect of these policies amongst the teams or partners.

 Address needs and requests in a professional way.

 Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others.

Note: The position will be highly mobile and will require frequent travels to the field where activities are implemented.

The position requires a very high level of flexibility and is subject to evolve in order to respond to additional tasks or changes as identified by the line manager.
