At least one year of professional experience in PSS or Social field required
Excellent communication skills, ability to listen and open-mindedness.
Excellent planning /organization skills required
Proficient knowledge of Arabic– written and spoken
Previous experience with international or local NGOs desired
Sense of confidentiality
Good knowledge on Excel and Microsoft word desired
Flexibility and ability to work in a multicultural environment with cultural sensitivity, respect and neutrality

University degree in Psychology, Psychiatric or related field
The organization will offer the successful applicant a Three months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance.
You must be available to start as soon as possible and be willing and able to work in Al Hol camp.
Salary and conditions will be according to the salary grid. Minimum 791 USD/month + (allowances).
- Identify specific needs (with a focus on psychosocial and psychological issues) of the program beneficiaries, contribute to the assessment of these needs and/or directly assess these needs as required
- Work as mobile/outreach team to identify, register and analyze beneficiaries specifics needs (disabilities and vulnerabilities)
In a mobile work team system, with technical advices and coordination with other team members, assess psychological needs and issues in particular.
Support the global rehabilitation approach, working closely with Rehabilitation workers and other available services and referral mechanisms, to ensure a comprehensive approach
Develop a community approach to ensure a confidence in the organization process and project
Ensure a global vision of the individual and familial needs in the identification
Assess all protection issues at individuals and familial level
Assign priority to most vulnerable cases
Fill the assessment format as required by the organization beneficiary pathway
- Answer to the identified needs, by providing direct support (psychosocial support) and refer internally and externally as needed, respecting confidentiality and the rights of the beneficiary
Create an adequate and feasible action plan for each case based on the need assessment
Provide psychosocial support at the individual and family level according to the assessment and the action plan
Refer all cases identified internally to the relevant team, within the internal system in place
Refer all cases identified externally to the line manager, following the appropriate strategy of the program
Ensure the follow up of the beneficiaries
Participate actively to study-case meeting with the line manager and technical advisors
- Conduct specific psychosocial group activities, adapted and appropriate to each one’s specific needs and capacities
Conduct discussion group and focus group
Organize and implement innovative community-based psychosocial activities
When needed/possible, work with the partners and volunteers to create and implement social activities in the centers and the communities
Participate to the group activities and the monitoring of these activities
Procure any support to facilitate partner’s work
Ensure follow up of the beneficiaries
Participate to the reporting of activities and evolution of the beneficiaries psychosocial situation
- Develop and reinforce the relationships with INGO, LNGO, authorities, community focal points and any other stakeholders on the field, following the identified strategy, and with the support of the line manager
Develop the network of the organization focal points within the area of intervention
Regularly contact the focal points to get information about the general situation of most vulnerable population affected by the Syrian crisis, and especially within the refugee’s communities.
Maintain a flexible system of referrals from focal points to the organization team, according to focal points constraints
Share in formal and informal meetings with the team the information collected on the field regarding humanitarian actors activities and constraints
- Report data, follow-up cases and organize the daily and weekly activities
Close follow-up of individual and familial cases
Ensure a daily quantitative and qualitative reporting through the tools and system in place
Organization of the weekly plan within the pluridisciplinary team, with the support of DVFP PO
- Demonstrate an ethic and professional practice
Implement a ‘do no harm’ approach, remaining aware of the limits of your own scope of practice and seeking technical guidance whenever unsure
Respect beneficiary confidentiality and point of view
Respect and promote the organization’s Policies and report to your line manager any non-respect of the organization’s policies among the teams or partners
Address needs and requests in a professional way
Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others
Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers
Always respect a refusal of treatment
- Demonstrate willingness to improve professional competences and abilities to increase care quality
Demonstrate willingness to improve your own knowledge and skills by participating actively in any training sessions, capacity building activities, review of the PSS activities provided…
Participate in the different activities, meetings and training that are common to all the organization team members
Respect each team member’s positions, work, and specialty;
Adapt to special situations or demands from supervisor (reporting, etc)
Demonstrate a constant motivation at work
- Any other reports made upon line manager’s request
