Job Description:

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Under the supervision of the ED Program Coordinator, the ECCD Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring SC’s Early Childhood and Care Development (ECCD) activities.

S/he will ensure that activities are consistent with NGOs’s programming principles and approaches, draw on relevant best practices and lessons learnt, enable children to attain their rights and are compliant with donor regulations.

As a member of the Education Team, and under the direct supervision of the ED Programme Coordinator, ECCD Officer will establish and maintain healthy relationship in the Camps and CCCs, particularly in the field of non-formal education and child protection and stakeholders in target communities. ECCD Officer will contribute to seek required approvals from local authorities and camp management/community and CCC community in project planning, implementation, and monitoring. ECCD Officer will conduct regular monitoring and reporting, flagging issues and challenges and proposing changes to project activities to ensure continued relevance and effectiveness. In addition, ECCD Officer will also ensure the integration of child protection, non-formal education and other interventions, if any, in target communities

Reports to:  ED Program Coordinator

Staff reporting to this post: ECCD Assistants

SUMMARY OF ROLE :

  • With support from the Education Program Coordinator, develop, implement and monitor quarterly, monthly and weekly activity plans to achieve expected results. This includes planning of activities, budgets and procurement.
  • Lead the preparation of all procurement and administrative documents required for program implementation Ensure that implementation plans are up-to-date
  • Draft weekly, monthly, progress and other reports, as required; Responsible for accountability mechanisms (link with MEAL)
  • Liaise on a regular basis with education stakeholders, partners, community and NGOs response team to guarantee the smooth operation of the programs (partnership liaison)
  • Identify education needs and gaps as well as potential partners (partnership liaison)
  • Comply with NGOs policies and practices with respect to child protection, code of conduct, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all program data is properly and regularly collected by field staff, check data and ensure that it is logically presented to the Education Coordinator (inclusive of information Data; well-linked with MEAL)
  • Collect and compile project data based on the standard formats and submit weekly reports capturing achievements (inclusive of daily updates and weekly plans)
  • Participate in team reviews of results and program progress and/or project evaluation when and as requested
  • Function as a Master Trainer on SC Education Trainings; Facilitate trainings when necessary
  • Collaboration with other team members across to ensure synergies and consistency in our programming approaches

Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of weekly, monthly, progress and other reports, as required

Monitoring, evaluation and learning

  • Participate in needs assessments
  • Collect and compile project data based on the standard formats and submit weekly reports capturing achievements.
  • Participate in team reviews of results and program progress and/or project evaluation when and as requested
  • Share program lessons learned internally with other sectors/departments
