Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory
IT skills: comfortable with the use of Excel, Word and of an email account
Past working experience with an INGO is a strong asset
Minimum of 1 year working with Shelter projects or in construction companies or in shelter related positions is mandatory
Past working experience in management positions is valuable
Personal qualities: rigorous, organized, trustful
We are looking for a dedicated employee with an affection for team work and good organizational and interpersonal skills.
The Operational Information Deputy Program Manager will be required to:
Relevance, quality and design of activities:
Support the Operational Information Manager in identifying appropriate methodologies for site information activities and sound technical solutions to answer local context’s constraints;
Identify the necessary means and resources for activities including financial, logistics and human resources needs;
Ensure activities are implemented in accordance with Solidarités International technical standards, humanitarian norms and standards as well as donor requirements
Support the Operational Information Manager in ensuring activities reach the expected results;
Support the Operational Information Manager in preparing and developing new activities
Plan and supervise the implementation of activities with the field teams, in accordance with the department’s work plan, technical specificities and methodology validated by the Operational Information Manager;
Support the Operational Information Manager in overseeing the implementation of activities to ensure deadlines are met and maintain technical minimum standards;
With the support of the Operational Information Manager, prepare and elaborate assessment/monitoring methodology and reporting formats to ensure timely and high quality information gathering
Anticipate problems, report any constraints met during activities implementation, and propose appropriate solutions to the Operational Information Manager
Propose activities adjustment to the Operational Information Manager according to context’s evolution and SI’s scope of assistance.
Participate in the design and follow up of the information management tool according to the defined need.
Support the Operational Information Manager with the identification of HR needs, logistical and financial resources needed at different stages of the activities/project.
Ensure that the safety of persons (SI, daily workers and contractors) and equipment at intervention sites is guaranteed
Draft monthly reports on the progress of activities, and provide updates as necessary
Support the Operational Information Manager in drafting reports to donors, local authorities, or any other relevant stakeholders
Ensure proper archiving of key documents and files and share them with the PM
Immediately report any problem or information that could affect the projects/activities or the security of the teams to the PM.
Ensure the collection and compilation of information about the progress of projects/activities from the field officers.
Prepare and submit weekly update reports on the progress of projects/activities to the Operational Information Manager.
Co-animate with the Operational Information Manager and actively participate in weekly meetings with all team members;
Represent SI on behalf of the Operational Information Manager and collaborate with relevant bodies: local authorities, camp management, beneficiaries, and any other relevant actors.
Human Resources Management
Participate in the recruitment and induction of national program staff.
Ensure the regular appraisals of staff members under direct line management are conducted
Assist the implementation of training and capacity building of the team, under the lead of PM and in coordination with HR department as relevant.
Partake in the assessment of team performance.
Supervise and monitor potential conflicts within the teams and inform the PM in case of a problem. Monitor the teams to ensure that they are adhering to health and safety regulations.
Ensure all staff comply with SI Code of Conduct, security protocols and internal regulation while carrying out all activities.
