Education:

 Background in social work, teaching or related field.

Work Experience, Skills and Competencies:

 Experience working in humanitarian organizations

 Willing to work with people from ethnic and religious backgrounds

 Committed to the humanitarian principles of impartiality and neutrality in the workspace

 Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of clients at all times.

 Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.

 Ability to work autonomously and take initiative

 Strong team spirit and enjoy working with others

 Good computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).

Language Skills:

 Arabic and Kurdish fluency required, ability to communicate and write in English preferable.

 Combination of office-based (65%) and field-based (35%).

Job Description:

Protection Mainstreaming

 Work closely with ERD staff to mainstream protection in cash, in-kind and livelihood services, as outlined in the ERD protection mainstreaming action plan

 With support from the Protection Mainstreaming Officer, Protection Manager and Sr. Recovery and Livelihoods Manager develop realistic and appropriate means of response to identified protection risks and concerns

 Present monthly achievements against the mainstreaming action plan, challenges faced, and new concerns raised to Protection and ERD Managers/Coordinator

 Update the protection mainstreaming action plan accordingly, noting actions taken and new protection risks and/or concerns identified

 Work closely with the Protection Training Officer to develop protection trainings for cash staff and feed into the development of protection information products to improve mainstreaming outcomes.

Receipt of and response to referrals, information requests

 Receive referrals for individuals and families who have been detected by IRC field teams as economically vulnerable and/or who have self-referred at IRC officers or centers

 To ensure individuals referred are followed up with timely household or center-based visits to assess their needs and economic vulnerability

 Ensure timely and appropriate feedback for cases who were assessed but did not meet the inclusion criteria

 With support from protection and ERD managers explore appropriate means of response to complaints received on a case by case basis, including hard-to-reach areas where connectivity is low, this can include the facilitation of community meetings or small gatherings

Data management and reporting

 Work and communicate closely with beneficiary feedback and complaints staff to ensure ERD-related complaints, requests for information via field staff or by hotlines are ccollected, filed and data is stored, ensuring confidentiality of information

 Submit and receive updated complaint tracking information to/from the beneficiary feedback and complaints team, supporting with suggested recommendations for resolution after discussion with ERD and protection managers

 Prepare and submit weekly and monthly work plans to ERD Managers

Coordination and representation

 Be present at Livelihoods and CFW sites, setting up a help desk alongside Protection staff to ensure people can access information, needed referrals can be received.

 To be up-to-date with information on services available (including beyond the scope of services provided by IRC), and support access to these services through direct referral

 Coordinate with other sectors as needed, to support your delivery of community-level meetings or other methods of response
