To be successful in this role you must have:
Knowledge and previous experience working in social work field (e.g. teacher, social worker, trainer)
Sense of confidentiality –flexibility and adaptation capacity – Knows how to work as a team member- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with people from various backgrounds, origins.
The candidate needs to feel comfortable working in conflicted areas where security could become a concern. This position requires field travel at least 80% of the time.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage stress, multi-task and take decisions.
Excellent writing skills.
Independent and able to choose priorities.
Arabic language skills (speaking, reading, writing).
Previous experience with our organization, other international or local NGO is an asset.
Kurdish and English language skills (speaking, reading, writing).
Post-secondary education in social science strongly preferred. Structural engineering knowledge can also be an asset.
The organization will offer the successful applicant a Six months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance.
You must be available to start work in December 2018 and be willing and able to work in mainly Hassakeh and Amuda Cities.
Salary and conditions will be according to the salary grid. Minimum 791 USD/month + (allowances).
- Support inclusive livelihood programming:
Identify and manage cases in which more support is needed for the beneficiary;
Run community awareness sessions in areas of intervention to help create inclusive behaviours amongst local communities;
Engage in ongoing task analysis (general and beneficiary specific) to ensure solutions can be found for any difficulties encountered in the field;
Identify success cases so that they can be reported on and supported further if possible;
Encourage and promote inclusion by collaborating with beneficiaries and field partners on solutions;
Identify needs for tools or programmatic support to help inclusion; inform ILO, PM and TA/IC;
Support in the distribution/adaptation of work tools for beneficiaries to use. Create a price list of tools for your local area.
- Provide technical support, knowledge and recommendations to partners to ensure inclusion is operating within programs:
Support consortium partners through on the job-training with field staff to ensure remove of barriers for inclusive livelihoods;
Identify areas of need for further training and report on these to the ILO, PM and TA/IC;
Support in any technical trainings given if needed/requested;
Support correct use of WQGs in registration tools of partners;
Work with the consortium members to help identify needs and gaps within their assessments, programming and identification stages and report on these to the ILO, PM and TA/IC.
- Adhere to Humanity & Inclusion technical guidelines and models of intervention:
Adhere to Humanity and Inclusion tools and MEAL documents to ensure the accurate documentation of information;
Complete any needed reports when requested by the ILO, PM or TA/IC;
Report on any issues or difficulties that may arise in the field that could potentially affect Humanity and Inclusion programming or consortium partner programming.
- Support referrals either between Humanity and Inclusion Departments or between other NGOs as needed:
Develop the network of the organisation focal points within the area of intervention who could be active in the referral process;
Correctly fill and report on referral templates and ensure they are handed to the correct focal point within Humanity and Inclusion;
Know and understand Humanity and Inclusion categorisation of cases so only cases that can be received by the organisation are referred internally;
Share in formal and informal meetings with the team the information collected on the field regarding humanitarian actor’s activities and constraints.
- Report data, follow-up cases and organize the daily and weekly activities:
Accurately inform the ILO and Manager of developments in the field so that accurate weekly planning and monthly planning can be developed;
Adhere to the planning and report on any changes.
- Demonstrate an ethic and professional practice:
Implement a ‘do no harm’ approach, remaining aware of the limits of your own scope of practice and seeking technical guidance whenever unsure;
Respect beneficiary confidentiality and point of view;
Respect and promote the organisation’s Policies and report to your line manager any non-respect of the organisation’s policies among the teams or partners;
Address needs and requests in a professional way;
Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others;
Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers;
Always respect a refusal of treatment.
- Demonstrate willingness to improve professional competences and abilities to increase care quality:
Demonstrate a constant motivation at work;
Demonstrate willingness to improve your own knowledge and skills by participating actively in any training sessions, capacity building activities;
Participate in the different activities, meetings and training that are common to all the organisation team members
Respect each team member’s positions, work, and specialty;
Adapt to special situations or demands from supervisor (reporting, etc).
