Job Requirements:

  • 6-8 years of overall experience in NGOs and 3-4 at management level experience within a complex country programme preferably in emergency setting
  • Experience of working in remote field bases with limited infrastructure and amenities
  • Proven operational HR track-record – experience of providing a senior generalist HR service to managers across a full range of HR issues
  • Excellent skills in handling and advising on complex people management issues
  • Experience of and well developed skills in recruitment and selection
  • Good attention to detail
  • Understanding staff care for humanitarian staff, in particular approaches to welfare, stress, R&R and debriefing
  • Good facilitation skills and ability to deliver induction briefing/training
  • Strong communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills in English
  • Experience in working with and managing multicultural teams
  • Competent level skills in core IT applications, particularly MS Office

Job Description:

 Maintains and enhances NES human resources and admin functions by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices

 Serves as a first point of contact for HR and Admin related questions for NES staffs and external stakeholders.

 Act as a liaison between employee and managers to resolve issues and complaints that might come up and as well conducts internal investigations as they come up.

 Facilitate new hire orientations that provide a positive first experience for new employees to the NES office

 Ensures planning, monitoring, and performance reviews of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.

 Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending HR policies and procedures.

 Maintains historical HR records by designing a filing system; keeping past and current records up-to-date.

 Maintains human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.

 Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

 Prepare HR reports, metrics, analytics and analyzes and identifies data issues and trends and makes recommendations for process improvements and system enhancements

 Update hiring Managers on status and cycle of recruitment, receive, review and ensure completion of new hire paperwork.
