Job Requirements:

Fluency in English (excellent), Kurdish and Arabic (experience as translator is an asset);

– Proficiency in MS Office, especially in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel;

– Excellent reporting and writing skills (especially in English);

– Knowledge of office management systems and procedures;

– Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills;

– Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work;

– Strong organizational and planning skills;

– Proven assistant experience and ability to monitor and supervise activities;

– Knowledge of Human Rights standards, NGO code of conduct and structure (previous NGO experience is an advantage);

– Demonstrated ability to communicate closely and effectively with local authorities, organizations and assess community needs;

– Ability to work individually and as part of a team, high level of interpersonal skills and patience.

Within delegated authority, the Project Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:

Job Description:

 Support Project Coordinator in organizing all the activities in accordance with the project agreement.

 To assist the Project Coordinator in planning, managing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project to achieve stipulated objectives.

 Projects’ budget management and financial follow ups.

Task and specific duties:

Under the overall guidance of Project Coordinator, the Project Assistant will undertake the following duties:

  1. Operation:

 Prepare plans for all project activities and draft of all reporting documentation required.

 Organize and support seminars, training and capacity building activities in the framework of the project.

 Building and developing relationships with communities, with local agencies and stakeholders to ensure that projects achieve objectives set forth its

 Take own initiative and perform daily work in compliance with the project agreement

 Assist project management in performing budget cycle: planning, preparation, revisions and budget execution.

 Assistance to the Project team in all project implementation activities.

  1. Finance:

 Assist the Project Coordinator in administration of project funds.

 Coordinate closely with relevant partners to make all the daily work of project finance and administration, including management and construction budget for the operation, arrange for trip of Project Coordinator, dispose and store documents …;

 Prepare reports on project expenditures for Project Coordinator’s review including Disbursement Report

 With necessary technical inputs and guidance from the Project Coordinator, prepare and update proposed project budget revisions for review by the Project Coordinator.

 Assist the Project Coordinator in meeting requirements for internal and external project audits.

 The Project Assistant will carry other duties as may be required by the Project Coordinator for the successful conclusion of the Project.

 Monitor monthly project expenditures and make proposal aimed at improving the delivery rate. §Ensure that no expenditure is incurred before it has been authorized.
