Job Requirements:        

EDUCATION:

 Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 Minimum of two years’ work experience in protection programming.

 At least 1 year experience in supervising staff.

 Experience working in insecure environments.

 Familiarity with humanitarian and protection related technical guidelines and standards, including Minimum Standards for Prevention and Response to Gender Based Violence in Emergencies (GBViE), Child Protection Minimum Standards (CPiE), IASC guidelines, and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA).

 Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and with limited supervision.

 Languages: Arabic and English required, Assyrian an advantage.

 Computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office suit).

 Availability and willingness to travel throughout Ar-Raqqa Governorate and North East Syria as required.

 Experience developing and conducting training.

 Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in planning and problem solving.

 Strong organizational and team building skills.

 Good negotiation and problem solving skills.

 Integrity, transparency, and strong work ethics.

 Availability and willingness to travel within North East Syria.

 Experience with needs and risk assessments.

 Commitment, patience, and resilience.

 Able to cope with traumatic situations.

Job Description:

Manage the activities and staff at the Child Friendly Spaces and Women’s and Girls’ Safe Spaces in theGovernorate.

Assist in the recruitment of protection staff, build staff capacities in child protection and SGBV, and ensureappropriate identification and referrals of protection concerns to services and support, particularly to SocialWorkers.

Assist in sites selection for the protection activities, taking into consideration safety factors, accessibility ofsites to various groups and transparency of the selection.

Coordinate with local authorities in Ar-Raqqa governorate, district, and sub-district levels.

Coordinate with Protection and other actors as needed to support basic needs for vulnerable households.

Supervise and coordinate the implementation of activities, including the daily, weekly and monthly activitiesand collaborative activities with other sectors and actors.

Identify the capacity and coverage of organizations.

Identify the gaps and challenges and raise complex challenges and gaps with supervisor.

Conduct regular monitoring of activities and ensure quality of services and minimum standards, throughcompleting monitoring reports and providing regular feedback to the staff.

Ensure correct MOUs are in place with relevant district/province stakeholders.

Set the weekly and monthly schedule with the protection teams and ensure that this information iscommunicated to the staff, other service providers, and the community.

 Ensure appropriate training and adherence to guidelines for guards in partnership with security.

 Coordinate with other Field Officers to ensure harmonization of center activities.

 Support in the recruitment of center-based staff to implement activities.

 Lead regular weekly meetings with the team and with other relevant sectors and actors.

 Act as representative of the program and support in regular updates to and coordination with other sectors and actors, including for the Protection meetings.

 Support in building community engagement and strengthening protection in the community for identification and response to protection concerns through awareness raising and advocacy.

 Coordinate all program-related administration for human resources, procurement, and logistics for the centers, including tracking of attendance and review of timesheets, appropriate storage, and inventory of materials.

 Compile and review weekly reports, capturing activities’ progress, lessons learned, the general situation, community needs and reconcile against activities planned and quality standards. Provide technical support and identify needs for further training or other support for the team.

 Conduct program assessments and determination of new program space locations, needs, and activities.

 All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
