  • Bachelor degree in a related area, agriculture, management, international development.
  • Previous experience of team management / training / capacity building ….
  • Previous experience among a coordination team / working with various stakeholders
  • Previous experience in Mine Action field
  • At least 1 year experience in supervisory duties with humanitarian actors
  • Previous experience in remote management / partnership management
  • Understanding of geopolitical context
  • Actively coordinate with all internal depatments
  • Beign proactive in coordination with external actors and NGOs
  • Coordinate with local authorities when needed
  • Computer literate; proficiency use of Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous experience with our organisation would be a strong asset
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic. Good knowledge in Kurdish is a strong asset

Job Description:

  1. Project Management and Activities:
  2. a) Project intervention strategy

Contribute to develop the strategy of intervention/expansion of Risk Education and NTS Activities in North East Syria;

Participate in identification of new needs and news areas of intervention;

Participate in definition of the methodology to be applied on the project and the development of the necessary tools along with the PM;

Ensure that the different stages of the project cycle are properly followed at field level;

  1. b) Planning & implementation of the activities

– Under the supervision of the PM, design, consolidate and review the weekly team planning, according to the project objectives and priorities, and taking into account security issues; this should include RE sessions, NTS (marking) and assessment of new villages.

– Monitor each staff member and their work progress plan;

– Ensure systematic and proper filling of all project related forms and tools, in liaison with DBO;

– Plan & organize trainings for the Community Leaders in collaboration with PM; Awarness sessions; NTS and marking; assessment of new villages

– Plan implementation and follow-up of technical training (content, translation, handsout, schedule, curriculums, IEC tools needed, etc.) for the organization staff inside Syria and for Community Leaders

– Participate to the design and dissemination of tailored Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials to support RE activities, including identification of new IEC needs; you ensure relevance/context appropriateness of awareness tools with the support of the technical advisor in Amman.

  1. c) Management of referral and deferral cases

– Support the team in identifying victims and refer them to the appropriate team

– In collaboration with the POs rehab and psychosocial, follow up referrals from and to the organization and ensure the quality of filling the appropriate documents;

  1. d) Logistics

– Centralize all needs in equipment and tools identified by the RE agents and Community Leaders and coordinate with the PM and the support team to ensure they are addressed;

– In coordination with the Logistic department, ensure that the logistic aspects of the project at field level comply with the organization and donors standards and regulations and followed by each team member;

  1. Team management/HR

– In collaboration with the PM, participate in recruitment process and interviews of candidates for position under your line management

– In collaboration with the PM, prepare induction process for new staff and ensure appropriate training/support is provided.

– In collaboration with the PM, conduct staff evaluation and address HR issues that arise.

– Directly manage and support the RE teams on a daily basis, ensuring they are able to reach their weekly objectives;

– Manage HR issues faced on the field or within teams and report them to your line manager;

– Ensure a good communication – coordination – information with your staff through regular coordination meetings;

– Ensure conflict resolution (personal and professional) within your staff and inform in case of difficulties;

– Build and maintain a team dynamic cohesion and professionalism which enables the objectives of our organization to be carried out;

– Ensure feedback towards your team about issues potentially raised by them;

– Ensure smooth communication and liaison with other organization teams working in NES;

– Identify improvement needs of your team and Community Safety Focal Points (trainings, recruitment, etc.) and report to the PM.

– Organize staff annual leaves.

  1. Monitoring & Quality

– Ensure the project meets its objectives and maximise its impact;

– Ensure technical support and quality assurance for the implementation of activities;

– You support the definition of tools and modalities to monitor the quality assurance system for the activities on the field;

– You ensure that all RE sessions are conducted to a high quality standard in line with the International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) with the support of the technical advisor in Amman and PM;

– Monitor the activities on the basis of the planned activities and budget, this including regular field visits and reports on actions done and/or difficulties encountered;

– Ensure that issues identified through the monitoring process are brought to the attention of the PM and addressed accordingly;

  1. Reporting

– Send weekly reports to the PM on all activities conducted on the field by the teams and the Community Safety Focal Points;

– Participate to monthly update of PM Box by providing relevant data;

– Contribute to the monthly situation reports (SITREP) and internal and external reports as requested;

– Centralize all the data collected in the field and coordinate with the PM and the Database Operator for data entry, consolidation & analysis;

– Ensure all material produced and data collected is accurate and adapted to the local context;

– Write minutes of all meetings chaired for capitalization;

– Report any specific problems that jeopardize the activities and suggest solutions;

  1. Security

– Ensure that the team members know and follow the security procedures, in collaboration with the Area coordinator;

– Inform the Area Coordinator of any security issues faced on the field by the team and keep a clear report on incidents and location of incidents;

  1. Translation

– Assist the PM in translating when meeting operational staff or external actors;

– Ensure the translation of necessary tools for the NES operations;

– Ensure an effective translation oral and or written of project documents/meetings;
